Tucked down a quiet side lane away from the coastal highway, this family kitchen cooks every Balinese dish from scratch. Regulars settle in among the garden greenery for unhurried dinners, returning night after night for catch of the day, rich chicken rendang, and fragrant pepes ikan—tender fish wrapped and steamed in banana leaf with fresh local herbs. Scratch-made sambal brings clean heat with crushed bird's eye chilies and shallots, followed by warm caramelized fried pineapple.
