About Cupit BBQ

Tucked into Penestanan, this rustic open-air smokehouse serves serious wood-fired pork ribs and chicken right along a jungle ravine. Charcoal smoke greets you from the front grill before you even grab a bench. Meat lovers take refuge here for massive racks slathered in sticky, spiced barbecue sauce alongside crisp sweet potato fries and ice-cold Bintang. By day, diners look out over the river bank to watch resident water monitor lizards sunbathe and polish off leftover rib bones tossed below.

    Visit during daylight or lunch hours to see the large river monitor lizards active along the ravine below, where diners toss leftover bones.

  • Bring Mosquito Repellent for Evening Dining

    The open-air seating beside the river and jungle foliage attracts mosquitoes, especially in the evening, so apply repellent or ask staff for spray.

  • Arrive Early for Prime Ribs

    Arrive earlier in the evening rather than near the 9pm closing hour to ensure the wood-fired ribs remain tender and juicy straight off the grill.
