About The Penida Project Hostel

A lush jungle hideaway on Nusa Penida where communal ease meets island adventure. Solo travelers and wanderers quickly fall in step thanks to dedicated hostel reps and easygoing nightly events, from open-air movie nights to family dinners. The compound runs at its own relaxed tempo—morning yoga sessions, a round-the-clock pool, and cold-conditioned rooms ready when returning from unpaved dirt tracks. Daily logistics take zero effort, with the reception desk sorting harbour pickups, scooter hires, and boat trips out to snorkel alongside manta rays. When heading out for dinner, a complimentary 5 PM shuttle van runs down to the coast for sunset.

  • Staff-Led Community: Dedicated reps and international volunteers curate nightly gatherings, family-style dinners, and group island excursions.
  • Turnkey Island Adventures: Reception organizes harbor transfers, scooter rentals, and boat tours for snorkeling with manta rays.
  • Jungle Retreat Amenities: A secluded setting featuring morning yoga classes, a 24/7 swimming pool, and comfortable air-conditioned rooms.
  • Complimentary Town Shuttle: A scheduled evening shuttle ferries guests down to the main street and partner restaurant along the coast.

  • Effortless Socializing for Solo Travelers

Nightly social gatherings offer an easy way to break the ice and build friendships without any drinking pressure.

The hostel runs events every single evening which makes breaking the ice with strangers so easy. The events often involve drinking but there certainly wasn't any pressure to drink if that's not your thing.
