About Mama Chew 360 Rooftop Jimbaran Bali by reservation only

Perched high on a Jimbaran hilltop, this reservation-only rooftop serves pre-ordered Singaporean mud crab feasts above the South Kuta skyline. Run from a private residential aerie, the evening starts downstairs with a quick look at the individual aquatic crab hotel before heading up to the open terrace. Tables are strictly limited to three or four per seating—no rush, no crowd, and cold Bintang on hand. An all-deaf front-of-house crew delivers attentive, seamless table service alongside plates of black pepper crab, garlic prawn noodles, and deep bowls of Singapore chili crab paired with warm mantao buns for dipping.

  • Crab hotel tour: Live crabs reside downstairs in individual water enclosures before service, with host Figie offering guests a brief look prior to dinner.
  • Deaf-led hospitality: Service on the open-air roof terrace is handled entirely by a deaf front-of-house crew, creating a welcoming and attentive dining rhythm.
  • Private rooftop tables: Seating is capped at three to four pre-ordered tables each night, overlooking South Kuta and the Jimbaran coastline.

    We were greeted by Mama Chew downstairs and she gave us a tour of her “crab apartments” which house 50 crabs in individual living quarters.

    Upon arrival, Mama Chew (Ms. Figie) personally greets guests downstairs and walks them through her individual live crab housing enclosures, detailing how each crab is cared for before cooking.

  • Attentive Service by an All-Deaf Hospitality Team

    Guests are hosted upstairs by an attentive, all-deaf front-of-house team whom Figie learned sign language to work with, creating a welcoming and attentive dining atmosphere.

  • Intimate Capped Seating with Dedicated Chef Hosting

    Tables are coordinated with pre-ordered menus days ahead and limited to only 3 to 4 tables per service, allowing diners to enjoy an unhurried, chef-table meal with direct visits from the chef.

  • Staircase Blackboard Guestbook Tradition

    Before descending the stairs after dinner, diners are invited to read guest reflections inscribed along the staircase walls and write their own messages on the blackboard.

    Walk-ins are turned away because live crabs are prepared to order. Reserve via WhatsApp or email at least 1 to 2 days in advance and submit your dish selections ahead of time.

  • Bring Cash and Budget for Dinner

    The venue operates strictly on a cash-only payment basis and requires a deposit, with couples typically spending upward of $200 for a crab feast.

  • Plan Transport and Return Rides

    Located inside a Jimbaran residential complex, the venue can be tricky for drivers to locate, and travel from hubs like Seminyak can take over an hour in traffic; coordinate your arrival and return transit ahead of time.
