About Warung Pengkola

Perched right on a Sanur street bend opposite the night market, this open-sided corner warung pairs icy Bintangs with unmatched sidewalk theater. High conical ceilings, raw brick pillars, and cane blinds catch the roadside breeze while the town drifts past. Regulars swear by the spicy beef rendang and braised pork in Balinese herbs, lingering long after the plates clear for live acoustic and reggae sets. Breakfast brings thick banana honey pancakes and plates of fresh fruit before the street heat kicks in.

  • Open-Air Heritage Setting: High conical ceilings, exposed brick pillars, and cane blinds frame prime sidewalk views at this open-air corner.
  • Live Music & Reggae Nights: Evenings bring weekly reggae sets and live acoustic sessions where staff and guests sing along.
  • Balinese & Comfort Staples: Kitchen favorites include spicy beef rendang, Balinese braised pork, and stacked banana honey pancakes.

  • Preserved Balinese Heritage Architecture

The venue preserves legacy Balinese architecture featuring high conical ceilings with cane mats, exposed wooden rafters, and unpainted brick pillars.

The conical, high ceiling still has cane mats and wooden rafters. The old brick pillars and walls have been deliberately kept paint-free to gel with its old structure.
