Regulars steer past the busy tourist strip for banana-leaf-lined wooden platters of wok-charred mie goreng, fragrant nasi goreng, and skewers of chicken satay drizzled with rich roasted peanut sauce. Between relaxed cushion-seating nooks and bistro tables under festoon bulbs, groups happily cross over between Thai chicken basil, chicken katsu salads, and homemade burgers. Plates arrive steaming hot alongside ice-cold bottles of Bintang.
