About Galle Club | Sri Lankan & Coastal Indian Cuisine

When central Ubud gets loud, head south to Nyuh Kuning for Sri Lankan and Coastal Indian cooking with real backbone. Galle Club perches opposite an open village field, trading scooter exhaust for cool cross-breezes and unapologetic heat. In-house spice roasting builds deep flavor without the heavy, sluggish slump of generic curries. Regulars steer newcomers toward charred cabbage, crisp mutton rolls, and flaky flatbread dipped in hot *kiri hodi*. The staff easily calibrates chili heat and plant-based plates, leaving dinner to finish over pandan crème brûlée as local kids play soccer across the green at sunset.

  • House-Roasted Regional Spices: Curries and grills feature spices roasted on-site, delivering deep coastal heat without dulling flavors for mass appeal.
  • Coastal Sri Lankan Classics: Hoppers, flaky parotta, and hot kiri hodi bowls offer distinct regional depth alongside fresh vegetable poriyal.
  • Peaceful Nyuh Kuning Setting: A breezy dining room and terrace facing an open green sports field, sheltered from central Ubud gridlock.
  • Thoughtful Dietary Guidance: Staff gladly check spice tolerance and guide diners through dedicated vegan and plant-based options.
