About Element Restaurant and Bar, Penestanan Kelod

Element Restaurant and Bar pairs soulful Delhi-style home cooking with Balinese staples along Jalan Penestanan Kelod. Run by chef-owners Nengah and Vanika, the open kitchen lets diners watch handmade rotis and parathas hit the pan while orders of lemongrass chicken, barramundi, and crispy pork belly fire alongside. Regulars settle onto the street-side patio with ginger martinis or spiced chai, pairing tender butter chicken with hot garlic cheese naan before finishing with fried ice cream.

  • Dual-Heritage Homestyle Cooking: Indian co-owner Vanika prepares authentic Delhi-style butter chicken, dal makhni, and fresh parathas alongside Chef Nengah's Balinese mains.
  • Open Kitchen Foodie Theatre: An open-kitchen counter lets guests watch fresh rotis rolled and grilled meats fired in full view of the street-side dining room.
  • Penestanan Street Retreat: Street-front seating provides an easygoing retreat from central Ubud traffic with house cocktails, chai, and board games.
