Perched directly across from Mount Agung, this open-air pavilion in East Bali is a grounded counter to the southern tourist corridor. Diners make the winding ridge climb for pasture-to-plate feasts served in the communal megibung style—daily sets of four or six dishes steered by wood embers, garden harvests, and fresh sambals. Return travelers note owner Penny Williams welcomes everyone like old friends, effortlessly adjusting the spread for vegan plates without dulling the heat. Early risers can even hop on motorbikes with the kitchen crew at dawn to comb the village market.
