About Murni's Warung

Steeped in Ubud history since 1973, this multi-tiered hideaway clings to the Campuhan river ravine beneath a dense jungle canopy. Multi-level open-air terraces trade street traffic for running water and folk art. Diners make repeat stops for the tender beef rendang, rich bebek betutu, and crisp perkedel jagung—golden sweet corn fritters paired with fiery sambal. Tender chicken sate arrives crackling over its own tabletop mini barbecue, followed by slices of warm apple pie.

  • Ravine Terraces: Built into the Campuhan river ravine, dining terraces descend over jungle greenery and running water away from street noise.
  • Balinese Staples: Staples span tender beef rendang, crispy duck, rich soto ayam, and sweet corn fritters with house sambal.
  • Tabletop Mini Barbecue: Skewers of chicken sate arrive smoking at the table over individual miniature charcoal burners.

  • Gentle, Restorative Comfort Dishes

Light, nourishing options like Soto Ayam provide gentle, restorative sustenance that settles easily for sensitive stomachs.

The soup felt warm, light, and soothing, very much like a homemade chicken soup. It’s especially great if you’re recovering from stomach issues, since it’s gentle, easy to eat, and doesn’t feel heavy at all.

  • Plan Around Front Parking

If you are visiting by scooter or car, note that there is only a small parking space out front right along the busy main road.
